Bodegas Vegalfaro

The winery is located in the interior of the province of Valencia, in the region of La Plana de Utiel – Requena. We produce wines using grapes from our own Designation of Origin. All of our vineyards are certified with the Organic Farming seal, which means our wines are organic wines. Phytosanitary products have never been used in our vineyard, so the land is alive. It is home to a variety of microfauna, which is very important for the breakdown of organic matter.

The winery aims to bring the world of wine closer to all kinds of audiences, guiding them to discover our history and passion for wine, encouraging them discover novelties in the world of wine.

La caseta de Tharsys

This charming accommodation is located inside the Pago de Tharsys Winery for private use with a common dining room and a fireplace. It has 4 double bedrooms and a loft with a dining room, fireplace and kitchen. The facilities include a common area and an American billiards table for guests free of charge.

Visitors will find peace and comfort in an unforgettable and relaxed environment after a visit to the winery to see the process used to make the wines and cavas.

La Parra country house

Built in 1923, it is a complete country home with a yard, barbecue grill, porch and organic garden located 2km from Requena. Here, you will enjoy the tranquillity, sun, good food, sport, nature and falling stars. It is full of charming decoration based on new furniture and restored antique furniture, high-end beds and everything else you need to feel right at home.

Utiel - Requena wine route

This route consists of ten towns that are completely surrounded by vineyards.  It is full of possibilities for your enjoyment of the ancient wine culture of this region. Pago de Tharsys

Our winery is located nested in the middle of twelve hectares of ecological vineyards that provide the optimal conditions needed to produce the best raw material. It was built on top of an old wine cellar from 1808 with underground rooms and thick walls that are still preserved today. Located in Requena, it is a benchmark in the production of cava; in fact, Vicente García, owner and winemaker, is known as "the father of cava", as he was one of the first pioneers to achieve the Designation of Origin for Cava.

Municipal Museum of Requena

 

Fossils, rocks, minerals ...

The museum has a collection of Natural Sciences that is divided into two, one devoted to "The Ecosystems of the Region" and another devoted to the "Regional Geology". The latter presents, following a stratigraphic treatment and a chronological order, fossils, rocks, minerals and formations of the different eras present in the region.

Municipal Museum (Requena)

Requena Municipal Museum is located in the former Royal Convent of Carmen. The foundation of this convent at the end of the 13th century was due to the Infant Alfonso de la Cerda, grandson of Alfonso X of Castile and Louis IX of France, and it is the oldest of the Carmelite Order in all of Castile. The baroque cloister is notable in its architecture.

House-Museum of Silk (Requena)

The Requena House-Museum of Silk is located at the former centre of the College of High Silk Art of this town and is the most significant witness of the silk history of Requena. The splendour of its silk trade resulted in the foundation of its College of High Silk Art in 1725, which was constituted as an institution independent from its equivalents in Valencia or Toledo. Requena, with an approximate 600 looms, became one of the main silk production centres in all of Spain.
