The towns that form this route are: Camporrobles, Caudete de las Fuentes, Chera, Fuenterrobles, Requena, Siete Aguas, Sinarcas, Utiel, Venta del Moro and Villagordo del Cabriel.
Red wines predominate among the Utiel-Requena D.O.P. (Protected Designation of Origin). Almost 95% of its vineyards consist of red varieties. Bobal is undeniable star of the show, accompanied by other varieties such as Grenache, Alicante Bouschet, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.
