La Pastora is a specially protected non-profit Cooperative. Its members are from the area of Els Ports, with a background in education and the environment.

Our activities revolve around Environmental Education, Ecotourism and Rural Development.

Our goals include achieving a change in awareness through education, encouraging responsible tourism that values the area’s cultural and natural heritage, and promoting social, cultural or economic initiatives within the context of the region of Els Ports and the rest of the province of Castelló.

Our hostel is run by the Canopia Coop V. non-profit cooperative, which aims to contribute to promoting local and sustainable development in the region. Canopia’s work is based on encouraging cooperative synergies and dynamics with organisations and initiatives in the surrounding area.

We're in Almedíjar, a small village with just over 200 inhabitants in the Alto Palancia region (Castellón), within the boundaries of the Sierra de Espadán Nature Reserve and in a peaceful setting of huge cultural, environmental and landscape value.

We're a lively team wanting to share and experience participatory, cooperative processes, but most of all we're people who dream in the here and now to open up new doors. We combine our training in agronomy, biology and environmental sciences with experiences in international cooperation, agroecology, rural development and project management.

We also like pedalling, sewing, cooking, writing and conversing. All this, plus our social and environmental activism has brought us closer together along the way. And we love it!

When you go inside an Art Rustic house, you're going to experience a work of art. Houses with restored thick stone walls with olive, juniper and pine wood in ceilings, stairs and furniture.

The accommodation is in the villages of Anroig, Xert (Castellón), in a tourist part of Castellón, between Peñíscola and Morella, only 1 hour and 30 minutes from Valencia or Tarragona, 2 hours from Zaragoza and just 20 minutes from the beaches.

The surrounding area has a fantastic Mediterranean climate with mild winters (it never snows) and cool summer nights.

Mas de Les Garroferes is a holiday rental property with an ethos based on love and respect for the environment in which it carries out its activity. The house stands in the heart of Pla de Les Useres and is surrounded by fields of cereals, vineyards and almond trees. Life gets put on hold here.

The house is situated only 30 minutes by car from the Peñagolosa Nature Reserve and 40 minutes from the beach of Torre La Sal (Cabanes) and the Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca Nature Reserve.

The Montanejos Cheese Fair celebrates Castellón and the Region of Valencia as a land of traditional and distinctive cheese. Around a dozen specialities are made here, many of which are classed as being amongst the best on the international scene.

The Region of Valencia artisan cheeses competition is organised by Montanejos Town Council and Montanejos Tourism Foundation.
