Our hostel is run by the Canopia Coop V. non-profit cooperative, which aims to contribute to promoting local and sustainable development in the region. Canopia’s work is based on encouraging cooperative synergies and dynamics with organisations and initiatives in the surrounding area.
We're in Almedíjar, a small village with just over 200 inhabitants in the Alto Palancia region (Castellón), within the boundaries of the Sierra de Espadán Nature Reserve and in a peaceful setting of huge cultural, environmental and landscape value.
The team at La Surera work on highlighting the natural, cultural and gastronomic heritage of both Almedíjar and the Sierra de Espadán area. We're ready to welcome you to our accommodation, where you'll also find information and suggestions for enjoying the surrounding countryside and discovering all the possibilities offered by this rural location.
Our hostel has 50 beds spread over four dormitories (8 and 12 beds), two four-bed rooms and three double rooms. We have a lift and the first floor is fully accessible, with adapted bathrooms for people with reduced mobility.
In La Surera's restaurant you’ll find delicious, home-made, unpretentious food, inspired by the wisdom of our mothers and grandmothers, with recipes that will make you feel completely at home. We use as much locally sourced food and seasonal vegetables as we can, always searching for the best quality and value for money.
