The Museo de la Universidad de Alicante (MUA) is a pioneering project in the Spanish higher education sector thanks to its innovative architectural concepts and museum projects based on alternating sets of temporary exhibitions of a scientific, artistic and historical/cultural nature.
Alongside its museum collection, made up of works of modern art by creative figures such as Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, Eduardo Chillida, Eusebio Sempere, Arcadio Blasco, etc., the MUA also organises seasons of at least twenty temporary exhibitions, including collections of modern art, university research activities and institutional projects that involve many sectors of society in the city. This makes the university museum an open space for cultural diffusion, where art, music, cinema, architecture and research merge in different contexts.
