Astronomy Observatory of Culla

Culla

The tourist astronomy observatory of Culla nestles in the interior of the province of Castellon, at the natural site of San Cristobal, 1.5 km from the village. The site itself has one of the best viewing points of the region of the Maestrat, with views of a landscape that will leave no one unmoved.

A privileged location for astronomical observation thanks to the low atmospheric and light pollution that permits unbeatable views at over 1,000 metres. Just one look upwards and you'll fall in love with the sight of thousands and thousands of stars visible to the naked eye and even more so when you see the universe close up with an observatory telescope with explanations from the astrophysicist technician, who will take you even closer to the stars thanks to their specialist knowledge and skills

The observatory itself consists of a 20 m² movable fibre-glass dome, with a capacity for 25 people, and is equipped with a main telescope, two secondary ones and a large selection of ocular lenses that give you a lot of options in viewing the sky (stars, planets, galaxies and nebulae).

Visits to the observatory are managed by the company Astromaestrat, specialists in astrotourism.
