Alicante wine route

A landscape speckled by towns with a great winemaking tradition and rich cuisine which have worked to maintain winemaking traditions while adapting to change. The native varieties that can be found throughout the territory, give the wines an identity of their own. A purely Mediterranean landscape whose depths give way to the most continental colours and aromas.

This route is comprised of different areas for you to visit. La Marina Alta (Alcalalí, Benigembla, Benissa, Castells de Castells, Xaló, Llíber,Murla, Parcent and Sénija), Marina Baixa (Alfés del Pi) and the Vinalopó region (Algueña, Elche, Monóvar, Novelda, Petrer, Pinoso, Salinas and Villena) offer an attractive puzzle of environments that bring great enjoyment to the traveller with a wide variety of attractions in a small area.

The grape varieties best adapted to the conditions in this region are Muscat, Mourvèdre, Grenache or Merseguera among others.
