Mas de León is an 18th century farmhouse restored for use as a rural guest house, in Cortes de Arenoso in the region of del Alto Mijares (Castellon), bordering the province of Teruel in Aragon. An area full of charm in untouched nature that exudes peace and quiet.
The house was restored, although the original structure was respected and maintained. The project design followed ecological principles in bio-construction and biomass, using sustainable local materials such as cork from the Sierra de Espadán, wood and natural stone. The house's central heating functions with firewood from the estate and surrounding area, and solar energy is used to heat the water and irrigate the fruit trees.
The main building has three floors of 8 rooms, each with a private bathroom. It also has an attached apartment behind the building for 4-6 more people. Outside there is a large garden, barbecue area, solarium and swimming pool.
A guest house committed to the environment, sustainability, preservation and appreciation of its natural setting. Its aim is to raise holidaymakers' awareness throughout their experience at the house. Guests can participate in eco-tourism and agro-tourism activities thanks to its ecological vegetable garden where gastronomic workshops take place with products from the estate, along with other activities such as yoga and mindfulness for personal wellbeing.
